Try it Tuesday (1)

'Try it Tuesday' is our brand new feature cooked up by yours truely.
Each week myself and Ninfa will alternate turns and recommend a book we think you should try and why we think you should.

This weeks pick is:

The maze runner by James Dashner
The maze runner book one.
When the doors of the lift crank open, the only thing Thomas remembers is his first name. But he's not alone. He's surrounded by boys who welcome him to the Glade - a walled encampment at the centre of a bizarre and terrible stone maze. Like Thomas, the Gladers don't know why or how they came to be there - or what's happened to the world outside. All they know is that every morning when the walls slide back, they will risk everything - even the Grievers, half-machine, half-animal horror that patrols its corridors, to find out.

Why I'm choosing this book.
The Maze runner trilogy is one of my all time favourite series' out there. I'd never even heard of it until someone picked it to be our book of the month in November '10, but I picked it up to join in and I'm so glad I did, it's a really clever, imaginative series with great characters and I love the slang they make up, it gives the books an individuality and makes them so memorable.

Five reasons I love this book.
1. The storyline is like nothing I have seen before.
2. A lead character (Thomas) young boys can look up to.
3. It's full of nail biting suspense.
4. It's unpredictable.
5. It left me desperate to get my hands on the following books!

Who I think would love this book.
Fans of dystopia should love this book especially if you enjoyed Inside out by Maria V. Snyder or Gone by Michael Grant. It's definitely a must for young boys but older people can enjoy it to, I'm proof of that lol It also has a lot of mystery and gritty suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat.

I hope this encourages you to pick up the book and give it a try and when you do
Come and let me know what you think!
