Mist: I haven't read this book so I don't know which suits the story best but I prefer the Bulgarian cover. Even though they're both quite similar I like the real man as opposed to the drawn one and I like all the fire and castles in the background. Generally I just find the Bulgarian cover more striking and its the one I'd choose to have on my shelf.

Ninfa: These are very similar covers, almost like the same scene in a movie. I like the darker colours in the UK cover, but there's something heroic about the Bulgarian cover, with the horse galloping and the warrior ready to fight. I like the castle backdrop, and the village burning.
As I said, all the elements in both covers are very similar, but I think this time I prefer the Bulgarian cover.

Mist: I think its a UK win for me this week, the Aus cover is pretty and reminds me of summer but there isn't much else going on, I really like the shattered effect used on the UK cover, it really makes me curious what the book is about, like it might have a dark edge to it whereas the Aus cover makes it look like a simple beach read.

Ninfa: I really like the UK cover. The shattering effect is brilliant and only if you look closely you realise that the three girls are actually the same. It really makes it interesting and intriguing.
The Aussie cover is pretty, very soft and very different in feel from the UK one, but it lacks in edge for me.
UK win.

Mist: I love the orange on both f these covers and that tiara is so pretty. As much as I like the UK cover, and that dress is amazing, there's so many covers with girls in pretty dresses so I think I might have to choose the Indonesian cover as my favourite just because its different and the colour really jumps out at you, I like the frame on the corners too. I do like what has been done with the mirrors on the UK cover it just doesn't stand out as much as the other cover.

Ninfa: I have to admit there is NO CONTEST here. The UK cover is just lovely! The gorgeous red gown, the mirrors all around. The whole cover is so elegant and just eye catching.
The Indonesian cover is just a bit dull for me. I really dislike the choice of colour, though I like the tiara and the corners it's just ruined by the boring background

Mist: While the girl on the German cover does look badass, I like the grainy, textured look to the UK cover and the symbol is cool, there are lots of covers with girls on and this one doesn't particularly stand out amognst many so I think I'd choose UK as my fourite, it has more of a unique feel to it and I'm curious about the background.

Ninfa: I'm really torn between these two. There are a lot of covers similar to the UK one (Divergent and The Hunger Games spring to mind), but although it isn't the most original, it is a very cool cover. I like the symbol, and the cityscape as a background, and I also like the tag line. The whole feel is very Dystopian and I also like the colour scheme where the red of the symbol and title really stand out.
The German cover is also very interesting, I like the armband with the symbol on the model and her ragged t-shirt gives you the feeling that she's been through a lot. Unfortunately it looks more like an Action/Urban Fantasy cover and doesn't quite capture the blurb as the UK cover does. I do like that it is different from other Dystopian covers out there, but perhaps I still find the UK cover more apt.
UK wins.

Life after theft by Aprilynne Pike

Mist: I find it interesting that both covers are the same except one is at night and one in the day and of course the reflection in the glasses is different. I haven't read the book so I don't know how each reflects the story but think I'm personally more drawn to the US cover, it just has a warmer feel to it what with it being daytime and sunny and even the font has a warm feel, it all makes me think of summer. I like the UK cover too, particularly the tag line and the mystery man but I think US is the winner for me.

Ninfa: The US cover seems like a fun Summer read whilst the UK cover has a darker twist with the muted colours. Just by the cover and not having read the book or taken a look at the blurb, my decision is purely based on the cover this time, and it's a UK win. I really find the tagline intriguing, and the lonely figure on the beach with the crescent moon above rather enchanting.
The US cover is fun and bright but even though it is pretty much the same cover, it feels like any other Fiction read cover out there.
So UK wins.

Mist: Personally I prefer the UK cover here, it just has a little more to it, I like the guy in shadows and the bits of a pattern watermarked onto the cover. The Lithuanian cover is similar but just doesn't quite pull off the same dark look, the kid looks too young and I'm not sure what the hand is all about.

Ninfa: Both covers are really nice, dark and atmospheric. I like the silhouette of the guy in the UK cover, with the light bursting from behind him, but I think the Lithuanian cover is my favourite. I just love the light glowing from the open book, it gives it such a magical touch, and the intent expression on the cover model.
Both covers are really good, but for me it's a Lithuanian win by a tiny margin.

Mist: I'm so in love with the Greek cover, its an easy win for me, I love the colours, the birds and the intesity. All I like about the UK cover is the red smoke, the rest is kind of boring. The Greek cover has lots of mystery and is what I'd be more likely to pick up.

Ninfa: A Discovery of Witches: I don't really get the UK cover, I have to admit. The font is lovely, and I like the smoke-like red tendrils too, but I'm not sure what it all has to do with the book...maybe it's one of those you only get when you actually read the book.
The Greek cover is gorgeous, really atmospheric. I love the eyes in particular, they just draw you in, and I love that the model is a red head, I always associate red hair with witches 😊
The blue smoke and the necklace are also interesting touches on this cover.
Greece gets it right for me this time.
It's a Greek win 😊

Mist: I like both of these covers, but I don't love either of them. For the Turkish cover I like the crazy eye thing it's got going on, it matches the fact that the story is about the daughter of a crazy man but I don't like the colours. And for the UK cover, I like the background and the tagline but I don't really like the heart. If choosing which to put on my shelf I would likely go for the UK cover so I'd say that's my winner this week.

Ninfa: I really, really like the UK cover. It has a classic feeling, and at first sight it looks lovely, but once you make out the heart picture in the oval it gets a whole creepy addition that really makes this cover. I like the tag line too
The Turkish cover is a little messy for me. I really dislike the yellow tinges around the edges and on top, and the expression of the part of the face we can see is more surprised than mad. Not really sure what they were doing with this one, but it's not for me.
UK wins, all the way.

Mist: Both of these covers are pretty in their own ways but I think if I have to pick a favourite, I'd maybe go for the Aussie cover because the butterflies and the light reflection are really nice. The UK cover is nice but when you take a good look there isn't much to it and there are a million other covers like it, though I do like the title font and the tagline. The Aus cover just has a bit more mystery to it.

Ninfa: Although the images are very different, there's a fresh, young feeling about both these covers. I like the UK cover's tag, and the font of the title is adorable. But the Aussie cover does it for me, there's a sweetness and an innocence about it that really capture that age of first love, and that special transition. Australia wins this one for me :)

(I couldn't find an exact translation for 'Bitterzart,' but I think it loosely means 'Bitter sweet.'

Mist: I don't like the German cover at all, it looks like an old food label or something, not a book cover lol It's totally dated and other than telling me the book is set in New york because of the skyline, it tells me little else. The UK cover on the other had is so edgy, literally, I love the straight lines of her hair and profile and the city in the background, its a clear winner this week.

Ninfa: Okay, I won't even go too much into detail here. This is a UK win hands down. I really don't like the German cover I'm afraid. The colours are a bit too garish and it feels very dated.
I like the contrast between the model on the UK cover and the blurry skyline in the background, and the two colours of the title font really make it stand out, especially the splash of red. I like the model's pensive expression, as if she's really thinking about the things she has done (see what I did there? lol). So yeah, UK wins :)

Mist: I think the Italian cover is just too dark and boring and I don't like the sideways title. The UK cover is much more appealing and the models look like the characters to me so it's an easy win for me. I like that it's on black and grey and such a close up of just their faces, it gives you the idea of the kind of book it is.

Ninfa: Although I'm not a fan of either in particular, the UK cover just looks like many others out there. It's a little too gray and the muted colours make it boring in my opinion. The Italian cover seems a tiny bit more interesting, with the topsy turvy image and I like that the title goes across. I also find the font prettier in the Italian cover.
Italy wins this one for me.

Black heart blue by Louisa Reid

Mist: This is a definite UK win for me, its creepy, intriguing and a lovely shade of blue. The French cover doesn't have much going on and is nothing I haven't seen before, there are so many covers like this. The UK cover is so different with the two faces in the heart and how one is fainter and the necklace makes me curious too, its an easy favourite for me.

Ninfa: Definitely a UK win. The cover has a creepy, intriguing feeling to it, I love the tagline and the faces in the heart-shaped locket . The whole thing is just really atmospheric and I love the Blue/Black colour contrast and shades.
The French cover is nice and I like the chains that seem to go around the two sisters, but apart from that it looks just like any other teen fiction book out there and not very eye-catching in my opinion.

Blood on my hands by Todd Strasser

Thrillogy book two.

Mist: Both of these covers are cool, I love the big purple font of the UK cover but I like how it seems to be written in blood on the German cover, kind of a literal interpretation. As for choosing a favourite, I'm unsure, both have nice but nothing special backgrounds and the UK cover says more YA while the German cover leans towards horror. I think if I came across both in a shop the UK cover would be more likely to jump out at me so I'll choose that one.

Ninfa: Wow, the UK cover is really striking, I just love the purple title over the black and white picture, it has a great feeling and it's very eye-catching. Unfortunately it doesn't really represent the book as the German cover does, with the blood like font of the title, the German cover seems more appropriate and sort of "Texas chain massacre" style.
Personally I like the UK cover, but I can see how the German one would be more suited to the book...for me it's a tie this week.

Mist: To be honest I'm not a fan of either of these covers but if I had to choose I'd pick the UK cover because its a lot more intereting, I really like the sun on the Greek cover but nothing about the rest of it, the UK cover at least has some mystery to it and has a sci-fi feel.

Ninfa: Although I'm not a mega fan of either, I do prefer the UK cover. It has a Sci-Fi/Fantasy feel to it and I love the mechanical effects around the centre of the cover, and the tunnel-like vision zooming into the characters.
The Greek version is a little too '70s-tastic for my taste, too graphic and not enough emotion. I do like the blazing sun in it, and the night sky view, but it doesn't really excite me much, it feels dated.
So UK wins this week for me :)

Mist: The thing I like about both these covers is the mouth being covered, its a very literal interpretation of the cover but I think the UK cover is my favourite, its a little more fun and colourful and screams YA, the Aussie cover is nice but beyond the quirk of the covered mouth, its just a girls face.

Ninfa: Very similar covers, but so different at the same time.
The UK cover is more fun and colourful, and I absolutely love the tag line and the font. Definitely more eye catching then the Aussie cover, with its muted colours and washed out feel; not fond of the tag line either, it's not as intriguing as the UK one.

Under the never sky by Veronica Rossi

Under the never sky book one.

Mist: I love the UK cover because it fits in so well with the story and the font is beautiful. The shade of green on the Dutch cover is really nice and I like what they've done with the girls face surrounded by foliage but there isn't really much going on beyond that. The UK covers just jumps out at you more and the colours remind me of a summer sunset.

Ninfa: Both covers are pretty stunning, very eye-catching and so different!
Th UK has that big splash of orange and an "end of the world" feeling to it, very apocalyptic.
The Dutch cover is more futuristic in a way, with the metallic colours and the girl who seems to have green hair.
Overall it is a difficult choice, but purely because of the title, my vote goes to the UK. The big sun and the never ending horizon are just spot on UK wins!

Blog tour; Born wicked - Cover comparison

Hi guys, welcome to today's stop on the UK tour for Born wicked by Jessica Spotswood!

Today, me and some fellow bloggers will be comparing the UK and US covers for the book and deciding on our favourites.

So first of course, here are the covers!

The first is the UK cover and the second is the US cover.

Mist: Personally I love both but I lean more to the UK cover for the gorgeous colours and its all a bit mysterious with the birds, particularly the one she's holding so calmly, I like the US cover, the flowers really stand out, but what exactly is she doing lying in the grass? UK wins for me!

Ninfa: I'm actually having a hard time picking my favourite out of these covers. They're both fab, the UK one is very witchy and magical in a dark way. I love the purple tones of the background, the full moon and the murder of crows taking flight. The model looks like she's about to cast a spell and it's all very atmospheric.
The US cover is stunning, I adore the earthy feel of it, and the splash of colours the flowers provide. The model's eyes also seem to stand out and it gives you that wicked vibe.
Very, very hard choice, but just because of my fascination with all things witchy, the UK cover makes the cut. It's just Witch-Tastic UK wins!

Donna from Book passion for life: US Cover....I really like the US cover. It's eye catching and comes across quite enchanting looking and it also fits the times of the book too, however, after reading the book I don't feel it fits the book as much as the UK cover does. UK Cover....out of the US and UK cover, this is my favourite. Everything matches the book perfectly..the crows, the girl on the cover and my favourite part, the sunset. In the story, this sunset is easy to imagine and the colours really stand out making this book so much more stunning.

Emma from Bellebooks: I like the both covers, I like the colour scheme for the US cover with the greens and muted tones, but then the bright flowers standing out. But I've seen a lot of covers with a girl laying in the grass recently. To me it does seem a bit generic, because of that I probably wouldn't pick it up if I saw it in a book store, sorry.
I love the UK cover, I might be being a bit bias as this is the cover I have on my book shelf! I really love the crows in the background, to me that gives it a proper witchy feel before I've even read the blurb. I like the pink and purples used in it, it just seems to have more going on and drawing me in than the US cover does. Also it just reminds me of 666 Park Avenue, which I've really been loving lately so maybe thats drawing me to the UK cover more as well.
My winner has to be the UK cover.
