UK vs. The world is a weekly meme I made up lol.
It's simlair to UK vs. US except the UK covers are battling it out with their foreign counterparts from all over the world, because who doesn't love judging books by their covers!
UK vs Germany |
Ashes trilogy book two.
('Tödliche Schatten' translates to 'Deadly shadows.' - According to Google translate.)
Mist: Both of these covers have a creepy quality to them but I prefer the colours and the darkness of the UK cover much more which makes it the winner for me. I do like the Germany cover though, the dusky sky almost looks like its on fire, and the birds are cool but there's just something about the frame of the UK cover and the little scene at the bottom that calls to me more.
Ninfa: Same concept, very different executions. Both covers place the girl's face very prominently, and have an element of forestal background, but the UK cover goes for a mysterious, dark, cold feeling, whilst the German cover goes for the splash of colour and somewhat warmer feel altogether. The girl in the UK cover looks mischievous and cunning, the girl in the German cover looks sad and determined. Overall, I think for me it's a UK win, although both covers are nice, the UK one just grabs me and intrigues me more.
Which do you prefer?
I actually think they both look awesome but the UK cover is more interesting with the forest backround along the bottom! Plus I love the eeriness. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the UK one because its much creepier!!
